Because the end of the year is a lot about food, we have explored the island and picked a few items we are happy to share with you. Here we are with our little gourmet selection for you to enjoy.

Beware that most places recommend to pre-order to avoid disappointment.

* Roasted Turkey with Signature Buah Keluak Sauce ($98): stuffed with fragrant sausage, apple and cranberry, this Peranakan recipe is a very local and nutty alternative to the classical Christmas dish.

* Roasted turkey in Turkish spices: this tender and flavorful turkey is infused with herbs and spices and served with grilled vegetables, a yogurt garlic dip, hummus and pita bread. ($155).



* Lemongrass Rendang Spiced Turkey inspired by Nonya cuisine, marinated with ginger, turmeric leaves, garlic, dried chilli, fried grated coconut, gula melaka and lemongrass. Garnished with turmeric rice, achar salad and gravy ($168).


* Baked Honey glazed Gammon ham: deboned and seasoned with cloves, this ham is a sweet and fragrant affair ($298).

* An impressive bone-in 7 kg pineapple honey-glazed gammon ham with buttered vegetables, apple & cinnamon compote, mashed potato and honey pineapple sauce ($350). A luxury treat in itself.


* Round like a ball, a creative flavorful combination of spices and fruits for this Smoked juniper berry ham with fruit chutney ($178):

* Luxurious green tea-smoked salmon ($160/kg) and black truffle-marbled foie gras terrine, brioche and Sauternes jelly ($280/kg).

* Charcuterie trio: a comforting combination of duck rillettes, chicken liver mousse and ham & parsley terrine, which is ready to be served straight out of its jars ($59).

* Oven roasted stuffed French quail with minced pork and dry fruits ($28). Pumpkin gratin with gruyère cheese ($24), Port wine and black trumpet mushrooms brown sauce ($20).

“Pure Pleasure” gift box ($85): foie gras terrine stuffed in a quail, duck foie gras and pistachios “Pâté en Croûte”, smoked turkey rillettes, original ginger bread, preserved plums in Armagnac.


You can also celebrate the upcoming festive ways without the hassle of organizing it all! Here are 3 take-away rotisserie packages with a European style.
Each package comes with a roasted Whole Turkey, Suckling Pig and a traditional Log Cake. Packages for bigger parties include Roast Beef and Cote de Beouf. Prices start from $305 (suitable for 6 – 8 pax) to $679 (suitable for 15 – 18 pax).
Other Shelter classics, such as Paté En Croute, Cote de Beouf and Roasted Chicken, are available for ala carte pre-orders as well (recommended to order at least 5 days in advance!).

Chempedak Log Cake ($42): originating from the jackfruit family, chempedak logcake is a local interpretation of the traditional Christmas cake.

Artisan Bread & Hearth chocolate log cake ($58): intense all chocolate creation made of Jacob sponge, rich ganache and chocolate crumbs.

* Pâtisserie G is a beautiful home to Gwen’s jewel delicacies, an indulgent selection of premium fruit cakes ($42), Christmas log cake ($58), festive biscuits (spiced orange, green tea cranberry, dark chocolate, almond and sea salt, $15) and a special mention to the adorable gingerbread house ($45).

* Christmas waffle with chestnut vermicelli’s meringue, chocolate sauce, crunchy chestnuts ($16).

* Cookie Christmas tree: almond and candied orange cookies with gingerbread spices ($50)

* Terrarium: a poetic round globe depicting a picturesque garden of butterflies, mushrooms, pebbles, flowers and plants. Dark chocolate mousse, passion fruit parfait, smoked almond nougatine, caramelized banana flambé and light cocoa sponge cake with dark rum…


* Individual desserts: “Joy in a Jar” is a Milk chocolate mousseline laced with a blend of mango puree and Chantilly cream, butter crumble and vanilla sponge, topped with fresh blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and mango cubes ($30 for 3, $48 for 5).

*Colourful Christmas cheesecakes:

Fickle Feline ($38.90), which features one slice of 10 different flavours (Yuzu lemon & lime, Oreo, strawberry, salted caramel, tiramisu, Pina Colada, mango & vodka, lychee-Martini…) to make one full cake! Naturally, if any flavour catches your attention, they are also available as whole cakes.

The Christmas special is an all chocolate Naughty Nice option featuring a velvety chocolate cheese mousse on a decadent devil’s chocolate sponge base, brownies dices and glistening gold powder ($42.90). You can also make your cheesecake extra fun by adding on a chocolate disc ($3) or go for the full set, which includes icing powder, sieve and stencil. ($6).

* Nazia’s festive cupcakes & cookies:

Indulgent bespoke homemade creations by the lovely Nazia for birthday parties or special events. Her Christmas specials include chocolate, carrot or vanilla cupcakes and decorated almond festive cookies. Edible bonbon flowers, sugar legos and sumptuous marshmallow designs, Nazia’s range is wide and colourful. Cookies & cupcakes between $3 and $4.50 each, pick up only (East Coast).

Salt grill & Sky bar: Luke Mangan’s “Dukkah Spice tin($16.05) and extra virgin olive oil ($21.40). As an appetizer, dip crusty bread into Extra Virgin olive oil and then into Dukkah, a spice mix made of coriander, mixed nuts, sesame, cumin, tarragon, and mustard seeds, salt & pepper.

Laurent Bernard’s delicacies: hazelnut spread ($22), chocolate biscuits ($16.50), Earl Grey tea ($16), strawberry marmalade ($18), cocoa powder ($16), orangettes ($17.40), chocolate tuiles ($19.80), this is definitely one of Singapore’s best chocolatiers!

* The classical Fullerton hamper: a sumptuous assortment of festive cookies, marmalades, pasta, pesto & truffle sauce, Champagne, marrons glacés, fruitcake, chocolate bar and orangettes. A Teddy bear and post office miniature of the emblematic hotel are also included. ($388)

* The Chef’s hamper: Invite Jamie in your kitchen with this trendy hamper ($180) featuring Pana Carasau bread sticks, olive oil, a terracotta dish, Jamie’s napkin, oven glove, mug and cookbook, a flavorful vinaigrette, bag of Acquerello rice, all presented in a trendy vintage style wood box.

* Completely indulgent all chocolate hamper including a chocolate velvet cake, dark chocolate and salt & sesame biscuits, praline truffles and truffle cubes ($178 and $208 with wine). Cake only $68.

Red, white or both?

Merchants’ selection of small Australian and New Zealand’s producers at an affordable price.

A white wine: Fermoy Estate Chardonnay 2012 ($48). Medium intensity on the nose of vanilla, roasted oats and almonds, peach and apricot stone fruits, as well as hints of dried pear and watermelon. Great with Turkey or salmon.

A red wine: KarriBindi Cabernet Merlot 2011 ($49.99). Aromas of red currant and plum leading to a smooth palate of luscious red berry fruits with hints of cassis and coffee bean. Best paired with baked ham, turkey, terrine, or foie gras.

A sparkling red: Sorby Adams Wines – Morticia Sparkling Shiraz NV ($68). This plum colored gem has a nose reminiscent of wild blackberries and black cherries with a hint of mocha from the oak maturation. Ideally paired with roast turkey or chicken, pheasant pate, chocolate cake, bacon and egg pie.

Teas from Singapore: Treasures featuring cherry blossoms, Marrakesh mint and lemon & ginger as well as classical flavors from the Artisan Collection (16.60$) or The Travel Series (6 boxes of 8$ each) featuring local Singaporean songs make a perfect festive dinner tea pairing or a nice Christmas gift. Beautiful tea set ($209), tea honey ($5) and sugar sticks ($15) are also part of the refined selection.




Last but not least, guests can also join Le Bistrot du Sommelier on 5th December (Saturday), 12noon – 4pm at the Rillettes Bar for complimentary tastings of the festive dishes, wines and champagnes on the “Christmas At Home” menu.
